In 2010, “THE WORD” Church is celebrating a decade of impact, integrity and influence. We officially turn 10 years old in November; however we have various events planned throughout the year to commemorate our 10th anniversary. (More information on those events coming soon…)

What are we really celebrating?

For 10 years, we have followed the leadership and vision of Pastor R. A. Vernon, along with his beautiful wife Lady Vernon as they’ve followed Christ, and have seen the positive transformation of thousands of people. As a ministry, we have not only grown numerically over the past ten years, but spiritually as well. We have impacted the lives of men, women and children alike in many, measurable ways including spiritually, financially, educationally, emotionally and physically by teaching truth, promoting responsibility, and advocating wise decision-making.

For 10 years, Pastor Vernon has taught and lived a life of integrity and moral accountability. He has inspired a generation of believers to be spiritually conscious by being an example in word and deed.

For 10 years, the outreach we’ve done has motivated other leaders, organizations and churches to follow suit, extending our influence beyond what we would ever be capable of doing alone. This outreach includes a number of different endeavors such as home and car giveaways, free clothing and shoes for children and adults, food drives, health and wellness screenings, and a host of other community-based initiatives.

We’re celebrating because God has blessed our ministry and allowed us to be a blessing to many. We’re celebrating because we are advancing the Kingdom agenda and genuinely helping others. We’re celebrating because we have remained faithful to the cause and the call, and we’re not looking back. We’re celebrating because we are building a legacy, and we can look to the future with expectation and hope, knowing that while we’ve accomplished a lot, God is positioning us to do so much more.
